My wife and I were awakened at 3 a.m. by a loud pounding on out front door. I went downstairs to see who it was and when I opened the door I found a drunken falang stranger standing in the pouring rain and howling wind. “I need a push,” the drunk says to me. “Not a chance,” I said. “It’s three o’clock in the morning, I’m not properly dressed and it’s raining and you’re drunk” and I slammed the door shut. I went back upstairs to bed and my wife asked me, “Who was that?” “Oh, just some drunk asking for a push.” “Why didn’t you help him?” she scolds me. “Don’t you remember when our car broke down and those two Thai men came to our aid?” So, I got out of bed, got dressed and go downstairs again and out into the pouring rain and howling wind to find the drunk. When I found him in our front yard, I asked him, “Do you still need a push?” “Yes, please,” the drunk replies to me. “Where are you?” I reply. “Just over here on the swing.”
