I owned this pair of shoes for about 20 or 25 years. I haven’t been able to find another pair like it. The shoes are more like a loafer or a moccasin. They fit low over the top of my foot. The shoes are a light brown color and they have tassels. I’ve been told that I could find them in the States but that seems like a long way to go to buy shoes. I could buy them on-line but I have never tried it. So, there I was walking down Second road and I crossed South Pattaya Road (Pattaya Tai). On my right I noticed the Pattaya Shoes Dept. Store. I went in hoping to find shoes similar to the shoes that I was wearing. But they didn’t have any like it either. Then the Thai man said to me that they could ‘make’ shoes exactly like my shoes, I asked him how much and he said 2,500 Baht. Well, sports fans, that’s a fair price, especially for custom-made shoes. So, I took a chance and told him to make a pair of shoes for me. He asked me to come back because he wanted my old shoes to make a pattern. Awhile later, I came back to pick up my new shoes and you won’t believe it. They were not only like my old shoes that I loved for so long, they were better. The heal and soles are make from the best materials. They’re not plastic like my old shoes. This is quality. I picked them up and two couples who were visiting the shop stopped and admired my new shoes as I held them in my hands. The ladies looked at the shoes and I could tell that they liked them. Well! My friend, I was smitten, if it is possible to be smitten by a pair of shoes. I put them on and immediately walked out the door and down to Beach Road to find my girlfriends. When I was crossing the street a falang lady who was with a falang looked at me and then looked at my new shoes on my feet. Can you believe it? She looked at my shoes. She noticed my shoes. She skipped looking at my handsome face and stylish clothes but she definitely looked at my shoes. I don’t think I have ever had anybody stare at my shoes. These are special shoes for sure. They look expensive but their not. It’s the clothes that make the man. Well, my friend, it’s the shoes that make the man too. Live, love and laugh. PS. There seems to be several shops around that make custom made shoes and clothes too. It’s up to you to check them out. Also, I want you to know that this is a totally unpaid and unendorsed story in any way, shape or form. I not selling anything or endorsing any place or person.
