Where do I park my yacht...?
Well Captain, check out the new pier. It will be located at the very end of walking street. The highway will lead to it also. Opening later this year in December, it has parking for 190 small pleasure craft and there is also a boat ramp. This new Pattaya Pier will be the launch site for the floating restaurants and Hollywood at Sea. The good news is that means the buses will no longer block Beach Road. YEA!! That means less traffic around dinnertime in Pattaya. The buses will in the future come off the highway and take the Third Road flyover to the pier.
At the new pier there will be on shore parking for some boats, 190 to be exact. The question is where will the other 200 tour boats park? I can imagine there is fighting already for boat parking. Maybe the solution is one of the following: no over night parking, limited boat parking or (our favorite) paid boat parking. In addition there will be parking for tourist cars and buses. A picnic park and a large pavilion in the Thai design are two of the prominent feature of the new marina area. We wait with great anticipation the opening. It is sure to make a visit to Pattaya a more enjoyable experience for tourist.
