Aroma Therapy, inhalation, steam inhalation, oil vapors, essential oil bath therapy, pheromones, smells, stink, spa treatment, massage, food, drink and sex. What do these things have in common? They are all related to smell. You know what I mean. I’m writing about that thing above your lips, below your eyes and between your cheeks. It’s called your nose.
The brain is an incredibly powerful thing. The brain is directly linked to the rest of our bodies. If you stimulate the brain, you can effect the body.
Smell or aromatherapy can be used to improve your health by producing more white cells, which increases your immune system. Lavender oil on your pillowcase will help you sleep. Eucalyptus oil can help with slight sinus problems, respiratory disorders and in the treatment of nasal and chest disorders when used in conjunction with steam inhalation treatments.
Bath therapy has the profound effect of healing skin disorders, alleviating muscular pains, promoting respiratory functions, reducing stress and increasing blood and lymph circulation.
There are ancient art works of monks performing massage. It is believed that the effects of skin-deep massage combined with aromatherapy can effect the brain or mind as well as the physical body.
Thailand is becoming known around the world for “the spa”. At some spa and massage establishments, the staff has had training and experience in the safe and proper ways of therapy.
You have to be careful. Some essential oils can irritate your skin. Some massage can hurt you, if they rub you or twist you the wrong way. You must explain about your physical limitations or problems before massage begins. For example, I twisted my right ankle and it will not bend in a certain direction. Do you have any allergies? Do have any pain or sensitive areas on you body? If you do, be sure to explain it to your aroma therapist or masseuse.
In ancient times some women or men would have their servants or themselves collect the sweat from gladiators because they discovered that when properly prepared, it had the effect of stimulating a persons desire for sex. People have been selling fake affrodisiacts ever since. It has never been duplicated. Maybe, it doesn’t exist and maybe in never did exist. Can you imagine an after shave that would stimulate women? Or can you imagine a perfume that would stimulate men? Oh, well. I guess we will just have to use whatever is on the shelf in the stores. Don’t over do it. You don’t have to marinate in it. Besides that, 98% of our sex drive is in our minds. My lovely Thai wife said that some people’s body odor or sweat is so strong that it can kill mosquitoes. Maybe, they just need to wash or change their clothes more often. Or maybe, they just need to wash themselves more often. For some people, it’s their habit to wash only once a week. Maybe, they don’t have clean water. We are not all so lucky to have clean water.
You have much to learn and experience. However, you are lucky to be in Thailand. Choose a reputable massage shop. Find an educated and experienced masseuse. Maybe, try a hotel or resort spa. “Seek and ye shall find. Ask and ye shall receive.”
